In an interview, Bjorn Borg, an 11-time Grand Slam winner, spoke about his experience of being Team Europe’s captain for three years in the Laver Cup.
“In the beginning, some people said Laver Cup was an exhibition, Borg said.
But that’s not it! Because there are so many good things about it. No one wants to lose in it. I see the players here being disappointed after being defeated. Only the Laver Cup can reunite players in one place. That’s the best thing that ever happened in tennis.
The Laver Cup goal is a long way from being a good model. Because it was part of the ATP Tour, with the right recognition, “When I was asked to be the captain of this team, I was touched and proud,” said Borg.
I had fun, spending seven days with the players. When I talk to them about the game of career development, I love our organization.
I am a proud captain. “On what makes the event unique, according to Borg.” once they arrived, they forgot their rivalries one by one. That’s what we’re looking for. Because if you bring your competition to the team, it won’t work. Here we are united, and we trust each other. I feel it; they feel it. “
